In a constantly changing environment, having life skills is an essential part of being able to meet the daily challenges of everyday life.the most excruciating question is haunting to the youth of India that is they actually job ready? Are they deserving in this competitive era? what X-factor are they lacking? To cope with the increasing pace and change of modern life, students need new skills such as the ability to deal with stress and frustration.
While students work hard to get good grades many still struggle to get employment. According to research by CBI(Confederation of British Industry)employers were looking not just for academic success but key employability skills which includes-
- The ability to self manage, solve problems and understand the business world.
- Working well as a part of the team because that tests your sportsmanship and willingness to learn.
- Time and people management.
- Agility and adaptability to different roles and flexible working hours.
- The potential to lead by influence.
A very important question every student should ask to oneself is whether they are willing to this job? Will it make you happy? Because one should choose a job only when that job will be able to make one happy and satisfied at the end of the day.
Employability skills
In today's world, teamwork skills are employ-ability skills. Self-confidence is an essential skill required for an interview. One needs to be certain about one's abilities, qualities and judgment because if you yourself are uncertain, it's difficult to convince anyone to be certain about you. Self confidence is not shallow its a deep sense of self- awareness within you that makes you confident without the clothes or modern day arm we love to cover ourselves in. Communication skills play a significant role while you are interviewed for a job. It is very clear that one has to justify all the important degrees and accomplishments with good communication attributes. Boost your communication skills with a stable body language. The way you smile, talk, argue and put your views forward are integral for communication skills.
Getting through the job interview, phone screening seems to be tough these days. In order to impress the potential employer, the candidate needs to make an extensive research about the organisation. One should be a leader to provide leadership to many. A good resume goes a long way, your resume is often the first impression an employer has of you. One must think resume as a tool to market yourself. It’s more than just a document, it outlines your background, your skills, and your education.
Video Resumes have become very popular these days. Companies prefer watching video resumes as it not only saves time but also gives them a complete idea about the candidate.
